 “Infostealer Logs” is the collection of the vast amount of sensitive data stolen from victims’ computers. This includes millions of corporate and customer credentials leaked onto dark web marketplaces. Most companies are not aware of this and have no visibility into it. Cyber criminals are leveraging this data to gain access into corporate IT systems, which is likely contributing to the increase of costly ransomware attacks and data breaches. 

“Synthetic Identities” is the collection of fabricated identities, often combining fake and real personally identifiable information (PII). Threat actors may pair a real SSN with fake address and date of birth to create a new identity. Cyber criminals use these synthetic IDs  in various scams and fraud schemes of varying degrees of complexity. Many organizations have not sufficiently upgraded their customer-verification systems to detect and prevent synthetic ID fraud.
